What does Homebrew Wii mean exactly?

This article applies to the above software and explains some of the things shown in the video...

The term "homebrew" in the case of the homebrew Wii console, basically means you are "unlocking" your Wii console to give it tons more features.

All those features are always there on your Wii, but the Wii is very restricted in what it can do straight from Nintendo. Once unlocked, the Wii can run unofficial software and a whole host of other cool stuff. It does this by ignoring the Wii copy protection and code signing measures. After installation of Homebrew Wii, the Homebrew Channel can be executed from the System Menu just like any other channel.

Some added benefits of using Homebrew Wii (aka an unlocked Wii) as opposed to a normal Wii...

- You can play all your "backed up" games from DVD's you burned yourself.

- Play your favourite homebrew games like Helium Boy, Tetris, Wii Physics and more.

- Instructions on how to install emulators that will then allow you to play classic console games from Nintendo 64, Super Nintendo, Original Nintendo, SEGA Genesis and many more.

- Play imported games like Ninja Taisen, No More Heroes, Sin Punishment.

- You get access to hundreds of legal homebrew Wii games you can play directly for free, or download to your Wii.

- Unlocking makes your Wii a media powerhouse, it unlocks your Wii's DVD playback feature! This means you can watch your favourite DVD's directly from your Wii console without any need for cracking open your console or installing any mod chips, nothing like that is necessary to unlock the Wii with this software.

- The same applies to playing music discs, now they will play.

- Download and watch YouTube videos.

- Listen to the radio directly on your console.

- The software unlocks all versions of the Wii whether you have the new 4.2 version or the old 3.2 version.

Don't get fooled by the people selling modified homebrew Wii consoles for up to $750 PER CONSOLE or the silly mod chips you can spend more than $40 on that involve you soldering the circuit board in your console and voiding your warranty - with the above homebrew Wii package you have three main reasons to choose it - firstly there is no hardware modding to do, secondly you do not have to wait (you receive the package as soon as you order it!) and thirdly this package is the cheapest way to unlock your Wii console.
